Scholarships

The Grand Lodge of Virginia Order of the Sons of Italy in America (OSIA) funded by the Virginia OSIA Foundation is pleased to announce that three academic excellence based scholarships totaling $2,500 are available for 2009. The Grand Lodge of Virginia encourages eligible and deserving students to apply for any or all of these scholarships.

The amount of the scholarship awards vary from year to year based upon available funding. The Scholarship Committee reserves the right to award partial scholarships to several candidates, the total of which will not exceed $1,000.00 for each scholarship. The scholarship awards are one-time annual award for the specified academic year.

Grand Lodge of Virginia Scholarship is $1,000.00
Edward Aquilio Memorial Scholarship is $1,000.00
David Paul Scafetta Memorial Scholarship is $500.00

The scholarship application consists of items 1-17, all required materials, with the exception of transcripts, must be in one package and postmarked no later than April 24, 2009 and filed with the Scholarship Committee Chair, Linda Sorrento. Transcripts may be mailed separately, but must be postmarked by April 24, 2009. Applications and required materials postmarked after April 24, 2009, will not be accepted under any circumstance.
